Scope and Contents Introductory lectures to the course on the Principles and Practice of Surgery, Medical Dept. of Pennsylvania College, 1844 and 1846; valedictory addresses to the graduates of the Medical Dept. of Pennsylvania College, 1852 and 1859; and two pamphlets printed by Gilbert in Sept. 1861 containing testimonial letters in support of Gilbert as candidate for the chair of Obstetrics at Jefferson Medical College.

Scope and Contents Thesis was awarded the Surgery Prize at the Commencement of 1908.
